چکیده

Fingerprint authentication is the most consistent and practicable methods of person appreciation. The only problem with functionality of Fingerprint authentication System is it depends on the eminence of image. The quality of fingerprint image affects by both surroundings and scanner’s-surface. The Fingerprint Trivia-Matching is not possible until the eminence of fingerprint image improve. The inadequacy of image processing is that it can only interact with pixel values but not with location of pixels. The only solution to this problem is to select Region of Interest. An efficient Fingerprint authentication System is presented based on ROI. The intent of the research is to study ROI based Fingerprint Trivia Matching.

Fingerprint Features Extraction and Matching

The proposed ridge features are composed of four elements: ridge count, ridge length, ridge curvature direction, and ridge type. For extracting ridge features, we also define the ridge-based coordinate system in a skeletonized image With the proposed ridge features and conventional minutiae features(minutiae type, orientation, and position), we propose a novel matching scheme using a breadth-fi...

A Hierachical Fingerprint Matching Method Based on the Minutiae and Ridge Image

In this paper, a novel hierachical fingerprint matching method is proposed through using the minutiae and ridge image. The ridge-based matching is complementary to the minutiae-based matching for the purpose to reduce the false matching. The ridge matching is only accomplished in the area of the convex hull constructed by those matched minutiae in the phase of minutiae-based matching. Experimen...

A Hybrid Fingerprint Matcher

Most fingerprint matching systems rely on the distribution of minutiae on the fingertip to represent and match fingerprints. While the ridge flow pattern is generally used for classifying fingerprints, it is seldom used for matching. This paper describes a hybrid fingerprint matching scheme that uses both minutiae and ridge flow information to represent and match fingerprints. A set of 8 Gabor ...

Fingerprint Minutiae Matching Using Adjacent Feature Vector

Minutia matching is the most popular approach to fingerprint verification. In this paper, we propose a novel fingerprint feature named Adjacent Feature Vector (AFV) for fingerprint matching, which consist of four adjacent relative Features of a minutiae and the ridge counts between the minutiae and the four adjacent point. In the first stage, AFV is used to find possible minutiae pairs. Then on...

Automatic Fingerprint Matching Using Extended

Fingerprint friction ridge features are generally described in a hierarchical order at three different levels, namely, Level 1 (ridge flow), Level 2 (minutiae points) and Level 3 (pores and ridge shape, etc.). Current Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems (AFIS) generally rely only on a subset of Level 1 and Level 2 features (minutiae and core/delta) for matching. On the other hand, late...

Use of Ridge Points in Partial Fingerprint Matching

Matching of partial fingerprints has important applications in both biometrics and forensics. It is well-known that the accuracy of minutiae-based matching algorithms dramatically decrease as the number of available minutiae decreases. When singular structures such as core and delta are unavailable, general ridges can be utilized. Some existing highly accurate minutiae matchers do use local rid...
